Geri Forehand is a Certified Professional Consultant to Management and is Director of Strategic Services for Sheshunoff Consulting + Solutions. Geri re-joins SCS as part of the Brintech acquisition; he spent seven years as Director of Strategic Services for that firm. Previously, he was Director of Planning and Development for Alex Sheshunoff Management Services, where he received the Alex Sheshunoff Outstanding Achievement Award in Consulting in 2003 and the Alex Sheshunoff CEO Affiliation Award in 2002. Geri has over 30 years of financial institution experience with his employment as a banker as well as a consultant, and his consulting work focuses on the areas of strategic planning, capital planning, succession planning, profit planning, performance measurement, and executive compensation.
Geri has previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of a national alternative funding service provider. He has worked with hundreds of banks on mergers, acquisitions, start-up, earnings improvement, marketing, and developing strategic direction. He has served as a member of the board of directors for several community banks and is qualified by banking regulatory agencies to perform mandated management and board reviews, as well as strategic planning, capital planning and profit planning.
Geri has been a featured speaker for all of the national banking associations as well as numerous state associations, “Big 4” accounting firms and major law firms. He is a frequent contributor to industry and mainstream publications, and his most recent article, “Strategic Planning: Worth the Effort,” was published in numerous state and national banking publications.
Over the course of his banking career, Geri has held positions as Branch Manager, Corporate Lender, and Group Vice President. In 1984 he joined Bank Earnings International (BEI Investments), and he served as Managing Director of the US Banking Alliance. During his tenure with USBA, Geri served as Director of Strategic Planning and facilitated over 200 strategic plans.
Geri holds a BBA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University. He has completed the Directors’ Education Institute at Duke University and is a Fellow of the National Institute of Credit. Geri has graduated from the School of Commercial Lending at the University of Oklahoma and was selected as an Honor Member of Who’s Who in American Business – Millennium Edition. In 2007, he completed a continuing education program entitled “Reinventing Your Business Strategy” and has been awarded a certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business Management.
