Bob Stevenson is a Managing Director for Sheshunoff Consulting + Solutions with over 31 years of financial services experience in consulting and bank management. Directing teams of consulting professionals, he works in the initial stages of a project to provide high performance solutions for our clients. Through the performance of his team, Bob has achieved improvement for client banks ranging from 30 to 70 basis points in ROA through expense reduction and revenue generation strategies.

During his 27-year consulting career, Bob has assisted more than 200 high-end financial institutions nationwide, ranging in asset size from $100 million to $110 billion.  Consulting engagements for earnings improvement managed by Bob have encompassed virtually all disciplines of banking — with a strong emphasis on retail and operations.  One success in the mid 1980’s included a two-year engagement with Norwest Banks (Wells Fargo) that encompassed major restructuring of the Holding Company and the Banks in six Midwest states.

Prior to joining SCS, Bob managed an internal consulting group with Barnett Banks (Bank of America) based in Jacksonville, Florida. His primary focus was to assist the holding company ($36B) with the total reengineering of their 632-branch delivery structure. Primary accomplishments included standardization of processes while introducing new teller and platform technologies. His consulting career began in 1980 with a nationally known consulting firm based in the Southeast.  During that 11-year tenure, he held positions from Consultant to Divisional Director with responsibilities for the Western region.

Bob joined the Sheshunoff organization over 15 years ago and has held positions in implementation and business development, and now oversees the consulting and planning practices.  His implementation experience has spanned banks from $100 million to over $40 billion. In recent years with SCS, Bob has spoken before state banking associations on various topics.  Additionally, he has served as a facilitator for the High Performance Affiliation Program and the Professional Masters of Banking in conjunction with the LSU School of Banking.

Bob began his banking career in 1974 at Planters National Bank (now Centura Bank) in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, with a focus in operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
