Dr. Edmond J. Seifried, Executive Director of Affiliation Program
Dear Fellow Bankers & Affiliation Members,
It has been very exciting for me personally since I’ve been asked to serve as the Executive Director of the Sheshunoff Affiliation Peer Group Program. You may not be familiar with my background, but for nearly 30 years I have served as Professor of Economics and Business at Lafayette College in Easton, Penn. I am also the dean of the Virginia and West Virginia Banking Schools, a faculty member at Stonier Graduate School and the Chief Economist for m.rae resources inc., a community bank investment firm.
One of my many goals as Executive Director is to help bankers address the challenges during these demanding economic times while providing Affiliation members economic updates and a look into the future of banking. As we develop topics and subject matter for each of the Affiliation Programs, it is our goal to prepare you with the best information and peer interaction to properly balance your challenges and opportunities throughout the coming year.
To further enhance the value of the Affiliation Program for our members, I am happy to report we have recently launched our exclusive Affiliation Community which contains the Board Package, Dr. Ed’s Economic Map and the Community Forum. One of the most time consuming roles as a CEO is to prepare for your board meetings. To make it easy for you, we have included articles and handouts that will satisfy the regulatory requirements to provide educational materials to each board member. The Board Package consists of economic indicators, M&A updates, compliance updates, plus other timely resources. Dr. Ed’s Economic Map provides economic numbers by state of current unemployment data, building permits, coincident index, and bankruptcy information. And the Forum gives members a way to stay in touch with their peers.
The Affiliation Team and I will continue to work hard throughout the year to help you rise above today’s economic uncertainty with vital industry information, timely topics to address challenges and economic updates to help you prepare for your bank’s future.
