In the near future, you’ll almost have to learn a whole new set of consumer real estate lending requirements. In the last two years alone, the rules and requirements for closed end consumer loans have been altered substantially, and will continue to change in the foreseeable future. The changes will particularly transform not only the residential lending requirements you must comply with but your operations area as well. In this session, Amy Avitable will walk you through recent revisions to the closed end Truth in Lending requirements, including:
- Issues and challenges that have arisen from the 2009 changes to the early TIL
- Continuing confusion over HOEPA and Higher Priced Mortgage Loans
- Frequently overlooked requirements from past rule changes
- Challenges arising from overlapping and conflicting TIL and RESPA requirements
- Additional changes to closed end TIL disclosures that go into effect on January of 2011
