Webinar

2:30 PM CT

Presenter(s): Amy Avitable, Blair Rugh, Michael L. Stevens, Christopher Cole

Duration: 1 hour

Price: Complimentary

Attend free. Join our panel of experts for a lively discussion about some of the more significant implications and questions raised by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. We asked each of our panelists to tell us what most concerned them in this Act and these issues will form the basis of our discussion, including:

  • How do bankers respond to the requirement that for all mortgage loans the lender must determine that the borrower can afford the loan payments over the term of the loan?
  • How do we address some of the concerns raised about mortgage lending and the potential impact on availability of credit?
  • How will a consumer financial protection agency in the current climate impact the industry and how it does business?
  • What is the “non-doomsday” case for community banks and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)?
  • How does the Act reform the deposit insurance system and how will these reforms affect the way banks compute their FDIC assessments? Will these changes help community banks?
  • Should banks be concerned about the new Office of Women and Minority Inclusion that will be established in each banking agency?
  • What new restrictions will apply to transactions with insiders?
  • With a significant roll back of federal preemption, how will the applicability and enforcement of state law play out?
