Bank customers are becoming more and more accustomed to using their cell phones to pay for purchases at point of sale by waving their phone in front of a scanner at check-out, using the phone’s web browser to pay bills online, taking pictures of their checks and depositing them into their accounts via remote deposit capture and using various other methods of transferring funds. BIO: Mark Budnitz

Mark Budnitz is a Professor of Law at Georgia State University College of Law. Among other courses, he has taught Payment Systems and The Law of Electronic Commerce.
Professor Budnitz specializes in electronic payment systems. He has published over thirty articles on this and other topics. His most recent article is on mobile financial services and will be published in the Banking and Finance Law Review. He has co-authored four books including Consumer Banking and Payments Law and The Law of Lender Liability.
Professor Budnitz lectures widely on payment systems before groups such as the American Bar Association, regulators, and lawyers.] He is a member of the American Law Institute and was a member of the Federal Reserve Board's Consumer Advisory Council. He is a member of the Retail Payments Risk Forum Advisory Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
Professor Budnitz graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School.
