Okay, studying the Interagency Question and Answers on almost any subject may not be the most exciting activity one could imagine, but having a strong IQA knowledge is without question important in so many ways. With powerful IQA knowledge you'll be better able to evaluate your CRA program's performance strength, identify or evaluate opportunities for improving or maintaining a solid CRA rating and avoiding technical pitfalls that can cause even good programs to stumble.

Additionally, we'll also focus on a number of "Needs to Improve" and "Substantial Noncompliance" CRA ratings that have popped up over the past year or so. Their numbers are increasing and knowing the reason for the weakened performance can be highly useful for your institution presuming of course the obvious.

In this fast paced session, Ken Agle will present the basics on CRA and then delve and opine on the myriad of insights gained from the IQA such as:

  • Those areas that must be understood by all institutions regardless of size and those that pertain to institutions of various groups.
  • Opportunities to improve your CRA performance rating that the IQA singles out in providing a useful "do" and "do not" list.
  • Understanding the various tests (Lending, Investments and Services) and why a knowledge of the basics and nuances will have valuable insight for your institution regardless size.
  • The guidance provided for "at-risk" institutions and logical efforts you can initiate today to help offset a potential downgrade tomorrow.
  • The point system for rating standard banks on CRA and why it’s important regardless of size.
