It goes without saying, data breaches are something you want to avoid. As a financial institution you are obligated by regulation to safeguard your customers’ financial information, and one incident alone can put you at risk of regulatory compliance violations, possible financial penalties from injured parties, or reputational issues resulting in public mistrust and loss of business credibility.
Join our expert to find out how to set up a data safeguard program that is a holistic, enterprise-wide assessment of unlawful or accidental data loss. This session will cover specific assessment components, the risks, and recommended controls for each. The components are:
- Assign a cross functional project team
- Classify business information
- Identify where your information resides
- Protect information from external threats
- Protect information from internal threats
- Ensure third parties protect your data
- Develop a robust ability to detect and respond to loss or data theft
- Educate and raise awareness of everyone with access to information
