BIO: Steven H. Winkler

Steven H. Winkler is Chief Underwriting Counsel & Secretary of Williston Financial Group and its underwriting subsidiaries, WFG National Title Insurance Company and WFG Title Insurance Company. He is a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. (B.A.) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D.). Mr. Winkler is admitted to practice in Connecticut and has been in the title insurance industry in a variety of legal and management capacities since 1972. Currently, Mr. Winkler is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association(Emeritus Member, Executive Committee of the Real Property Section, 1979-present and Member, Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law, 1996-present), New Haven County Bar Association, Hartford County Bar Association, Greater Bridgeport Bar Association, and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
He has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and he belongs to the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate. He was cofounder and a past president of the Connecticut Title Association and was a member of the Connecticut Insurance Commissioner's Title Insurance Task Force-Insurance Code Recodification Project. He has spoken many times on title insurance related topics and is co-author of the Common Interest Ownership Manual(1984).
